As a parent of a Senior in High School...what a night! About a month ago, Deb came to me and suggested we cook for the kids this homecoming and make it EXTRA special this year. We took the idea and ran with it.
The table settings were beautiful. We went to the Dollar Tree store here in Escondido and picked up tableclothes, Champagne glasses, mine treat glasses and all sorts of other goodies. Since my husband has the resources, we blasted the interlocking OG on the glasses for the kids to keep as souvenirs of their special night. Deb's Friend Marion (Wayne Johnson's Girlfriend ((inside joke)) ) created the beautiful flower arrangements.

On the menu for dinner was Prime Rib, Lemon Chicken, Baked potato, your choice of tossed or Ceaser salad and for dessert, cheesecake with fresh berries on top. Everything was done up just right. There was a mini cup of Au Jus for the prime rib served along side. For their potatoes the kids were given a trio of butter, sour cream and chives on a little clear plastic plate. Sparkling cider and Evian water was offered as well.
Kevin's girlfriend Cierra arrived at our house from Ramona at 5:30 and we took a couple of pictures at our house before they headed to Deb's for more pictures and the dinner.
Cierra is a beautiful girl and her mom did a fantastic job with her hair for the evening.
There were 12 kids total for the dinner at Debs. Once everyone arrived at Debbies, the kids exchanged boutonnières and corsages. Oh my goodness, the only smart boy?? Tyler. His boutonnière was magnetic and went on nicely. The rest of the boys had to endure getting pricked by pins with their flowers. Kev was the biggest baby of all! Eventually all of the flowers got on, but I do believe that excercise took a FULL 30 minutes! Moms, dads, dates, everyone was involved.

Thank goodness, the corsages were just slipped on a wrist!

Then the picture taking ensued. We found the perfect spot in front of the fountain, ,however, unfortunately the fountain was in the rocks....and boy on boy, every girl but one hat on spikey heels...and walking through the rocks was a challenge for them. And did I hear about it. But as parents we just wanted the pictures! We kept reminding the kids they would appreciate these pictures in years ahead.
Kevin and Melissa. These two have known each other since preschool and they are like brother and sister. They call each other cousins.....and when we asked them to pose together, this is what we got. Yup!! A total brother / sister pose!!!

After picture it was time for dinner. We sat the kids down and then they saw their surprise waiter and waitress for the night! Ruth Arner, who is the trainer for the Football team and Coach Victor Garduno. Coach Garduno has been with the majority of the boys since their freshman year and this was a special time. The reaction when they saw both of these folks walk out was priceless. They'll never ever forget this dinner. Kevin talked about it last night and was laughing everytime he told me a story. As parent, Mary Beth, Deb, Julie, Mindy and I, we hid in the kitchen and prepared the food, served up the plates for the "wait staff" as they brought up the orders. Victor likened it to Hell's Kitchen when he started shouting out the orders first trip up. We had a blast as parents doing it. I don't think we'll forget this night either!
