God Bless America

With the 4th of July fast approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to keep up with the patriosm of my postings here on my corner.

I looked up the lyrics to "God Bless America" I can honestly say, I don't know all the words. Whenever this song is sung, I can definately belt out the 3 primary words of the song and "from the mountains, to the praires" and "my home sweet home", however other then that? It's a shame, that I mumble along. Now I have "somthing" and I am PROUD to be an American! I hope that you too will benefit from this post and next time the song is sung, sing along with confidence. Just be aware, don't be around me when I sing....I'm not a very good singer. My son shudders when I sing along in the car. It's not pretty.

God Bless America
Words and music by Irving Berlin

"While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. "

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.
